Dec 2005
2005 was
not a particularly eventful year for us showing wise as we did not have a
horsebox for a while as we had to sell our old one before we could afford to put
a deposit on a new one. But the wait
was well worth it and although we do not have a living fitted yet or it sprayed
we do have two ramps and it made exactly to our specifications.
So beware in 2006 we will be back on track – assuming the price of
diesel does not continue to rocket and make it too expensive.
Needless to
say when we did get out and about we had many successes.
Our yearling filly by DINSDALE FIVESTAR,
DINSDALE QUEEN OF HEARTS
took to showing like a duck to water. She
will make a superb 14 hands SHP and on her first outing at
Durham
County
clocked up two first prizes.
Hayley has
been riding DINSDALE GYPKIN in the
first ridden, some working hunter pony classes, Show Hunter Pony, and Welsh Part
Bred classes and has proved that she can hold her own with the best of them.
Although GYPKIN
is not really a
Hunter pony we have encouraged Hayley to go in as many classes as she can to try
and boost her confidence. Anyway in
the winter GYPKIN becomes so woolley that it is hard to tell what there is under
all that hair! She has also been
riding DINSDALE ANNA KARENINA and was 1st and Champion 1st
time out with her and DINSDALE GYPKIN at NECWPCA.
She is hoping to carry on with her in M & M First Ridden and M &
M WHP classes in 2006.
We had two
foals in 2005 one was a beautiful bay filly by DINSDALE FIVESTAR, she is sister
to DINSDALE LONESTAR who stands on the West side of the country, and DINSDALE
POPSTAR who we have also been showing a little this year with great success.
The other foal was a chestnut filly out of FIVESTAR’s dam Downland
Titania and by the super stallion of Lynn Harrison and Clive Pearson’s Stoak
Legacy. They both have the most
superb temperaments and we were hoping to Foal show them but other commitments
have prevented this.
We have
been hearing about DINSDALE SUPANOVA, a 13.2hh Chestnut gelding, who we sold to
Mrs Robinson in 2004. He has been
doing superbly and was Reserve Supreme Champion at the Yorkshire HOYS which is
run by the Riding Clubs of Great Britain. He
has done so many evening performances now that he is so cool calm and collected
about them at four years old it is unbelievable.
He may be for sale soon, so keep your eyes peeled if you are looking for
something to take you to the top!
May we wish
all our friends old and new the very best for 2006 and we hope to see many of
you in the near future.
Best
Regards
Vicky,
Richard and Hayley Anderson
